Myoclonus following cardiac arrest is common and means a prognostic and therapeutic challenge for clinician. It is not constantly associated with poor neurological outcome. Treatment is not standardized and based on a low level of evidence. The aim of this review is to explain the pathophysiological basis of myoclonus following cardiac arrest, expose diagnostic methods, recall the therapeutics and involvement of myoclonus in the prognosis of cardiac arrest.
