Abstract

Infectious diseases affecting the nervous system can frequently be complicated by intracranial vascular damage. Their ischemic or hemorrhagic consequences on the cerebral parenchymal are the cause of long-lasting sequelae, which are one aspect of the severity of the causative infectious disease. An up-to-date review of the literature describes the diagnostic and, where appropriate, therapeutic specificities of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic diseases that cause these vascular complications.
