Abstract

The professionals of the intensive care units, as all professionals, are directly concerned by the upgrading of their quality of working life and working conditions, two aspects intimately related. Those professionals are even more concerned by the future of their discipline, the latter could be threatened by the risks of rupture of our environment, natural or social and political. Moreover, these initiatives to improve quality of life and working conditions, as well as ecological transition, are governed by legal provisions, acknowledging their societal worth. This text, consisting of a general reflection and three illustrations revealing the points of convergence between actions seeking to make the intensive care unit sustainable and to improve quality of life and working conditions, probes to highlight the importance of developing synergy between these two approaches in order to make them effective.
