Le Antisynthetase Syndrome
Keywords:Myositis, Interstitial Lung Disease, Antisynthetase
Antisynthetase syndrome is an auto-immune disease clinically defined by insterstitial lung disease, myopathy and articular manifestations; biologically specific auto antibodies against different antisynthetases are found. Clinical manifestations are heterogeneous, leading to difficulties in diagnosis precisely the disease.
Evolution is variable but prognostic mainly depends on lung disease. An earlier diagnosis could allow a faster initiation of treatment and improve the prognosis.
Therapeutics are not consensual because of a cruel lack of randomized trials. Corticosteroids are the first line treatment. Immunosuppressive drugs are most of the time given to avoid failure or recurrence or to spare corticosteroids.
Treatment duration and follow-up are not well-defined but often given for years.
