The extra-pulmonary complications of SARS-CoV-2 are increasingly described in the scientific literature.
Currently the prevalence of cardiological complications is around 20%.
We report the case of a 78-year-old female patient who developed a pericardial effusion with evidence of right ventricular compression following SARS-CoV-2 infection.
To our knowledge, only 3 other cases of pericardial effusion are listed.
We present the first case of pericardial effusion after SARS-CoV-2 infection without associated myocardial involvement.
