Abstract

We report the case of a 25-year-old woman presenting a septic shock related to pyelonephritis. In the postoperative urinary diversion, an acute renal failure with haemolysis and thrombocytopenia occurred, suggesting a thrombotic microangiopathy in relation to an O111H8 serotype Escherichia coli strain with a verotoxin.
