Abstract

Symptomatic post-traumatic fat embolism syndrome is a rare complication of polytrauma or long-bone fractures. The clinical presentation of this syndrome includes respiratory, neurologic and cutaneous symptoms and biological abnormalities consecutive to fat embolism in blood circulation. Isolated cerebral fat embolism is an unfrequent presentation which has to be known. In most cases described in the literature, patients’ outcome are really good and hopeful.
